Graphing each country’s foreign exchange reserves, the text says “China still has a huge war chest for African deals and, unlike the US, doesn’t make demands for transparency or human rights.”

Trade Diversion 
In my opinion the dollar holdings (or potential dollar holdings) of the US are a lot greater than China’s. However many they acquire, we can just print more!! Our bar should be infinitely higher on the graph
